The International Break is finally over.
The losses against Sheriff Tiraspol and RCD Espanyol, still sting but they feel like a lifetime ago at this point. And Real Madrid helped Madridistas forget those two losses by looking very much like the Real Madrid of old and running riot in Kiev against Shakthar Donetsk.
1 own goal, a spectacular Vincius brace, another Rodrygo UCL goal, a Benzema goal, and a clean sheet earned Real Madrid an emphatic 5-0 win over Shakhtar who were a team that gave us headaches last season in the UCL.
Are all of our problems fixed? Well, it remains to be seen…but Kroos at full fitness and Ferland Mendy back in the Starting XI made a huge difference for Real Madrid. And a performance like this right before El Clásico, is extremely positive.
